| About
the National Employment Service
The National Employment Service is a division
of the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development.
In 1919, the Labour Bureau Ordinance established Labour Exchanges throughout
the country. In 1935 the Public Employment service was established as
an institution within the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise
Development. Since that time, the National Employment Service has blossomed
into a network of exchanges strategically located throughout the country.

Our organization contributes to the nation's
social and economic development by providing a free advisory, placement
and information service to the employers, the unemployed and members of
the community. Our mission is also to ensure the effective utilisation
of human resource skills and employment opportunities.
The scope of our activities include:
1. Registering, interviewing, assessing, and counseling the unemployed.
2. Filling job vacancies locally and abroad.
3. Offering career guidance to schools, groups, institutions, etc.
4. Representing the Ministry on Boards and Committees.
