Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.) Ms. Lorris Alfred

Ms. Lorris Alfred assumed the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.) position in the Ministry of Labour on February 26, 2024. She holds a Master’s Degree in HR and Certification in NEBOSH; currently pursuing an MSc in Strategic Leadership and Innovation. Ms. Alfred has been employed in the Public Service for 31 years and she has worked at the following Public Organisations:

Tobago House of Assembly 

National Library

Service Commissions Department, and

Personnel Department (Office of the Chief Personnel Officer) – 18 years; last position was Director HRM/Ag. Deputy CPO  

When asked if she had any welcome words, Ms. Alfred shared that: “It is an honour to be a member of staff of the Ministry of Labour. I bring years of experience in Human Resource and Industrial Relations having worked at the Office of the CPO for over 18 years. I have an open-door policy and I am available to guide and assist where necessary.

Since my assumption, I have been made to feel welcomed through the warmth and the camaraderie of staff in their extracurricular activities and the various Committees of which I am a member. I am proud of Team Labour Force and the River Lime crew.
