Jobseekers and Employers continue to benefit from free NES recruitment services

The National Employment Service (NES) connects jobseekers and employers. The NES assists employers in both public and private sectors in finding the most suitable candidate to fill vacancies by screening potential candidates for academic qualifications, work related skills and competencies to match employer requests. NES also conducts interviews with potential candidates on behalf of the employer. These services are offered at no cost to employers. In addition, the NES assists jobseekers in resumé writing, preparing for job interviews and job placements where available within the labour market.

As part of its ongoing outreach efforts, the NES continues to conduct free World of Work ‘WOW’ seminars for jobseekers and students across communities.

Most recently, the Manpower Division officers conducted a virtual ‘WOW’ seminar for ASJA Girls’ College in Barrackpore. These sessions sought to equip many students with resumé writing skills and provide career guidance as they prepare to enter into the job market.

These ‘WOW’ sessions aid in bridging the gap between academia and job entry by providing in depth career guidance advice as well. The sessions focused on the use of professional language, style of writing and formatting, and layout of information when crafting resumés. Jobseekers are also provided with additional guidance to do further research and development via available online resources.
